Electrical Services for Your Home

Most of our work is electrical repair, panel upgrades, lighting installation and surge protection, plus the routine torque and cleans that keep connections tight. We also install and service standby generators and home battery backup systems, add EV chargers, and wire remodels and additions. When an older system needs more than repair, we handle whole-home rewiring and code corrections after a failed inspection. Each service has its own page if you want the detail.

  • Plain white work van with an extension ladder on the roof rack parked at the curb in front of a single-story brick ranch home with an attached garage

    Panel Upgrades

A new electrical panel sized to your real load, installed neatly with labeled circuits and spare space for what you add later.

  • Electrician testing a white wall outlet pulled from its box with multimeter probes, a yellow meter and red tool bag on the floor beside him

    Electrical Repair

Dead outlets, tripping breakers and flickering lights traced to the real fault, then repaired so the wiring you already have keeps working.

  • Lighting Installation

New fixtures, recessed lights, fans and exterior lighting, installed on boxes and circuits we check first so they run well for years.

  • EV Charger Installation

Level 2 charger installs planned around your panel's capacity, with clean wiring runs, permits handled as required and testing under a real charging load.

  • Whole-Home Rewiring

We test the wiring in your home, keep what is still sound, and replace the rest in planned stages with permits and inspection handled.

  • Generator Installation

Standby generators and portable generator inlets, sized from a real load review, set on a proper pad and wired so your panel and appliances stay protected.

  • Generator Service & Repair

Routine service and repair for home standby generators and transfer switches, so the unit you already own starts and carries the load when the grid fails.

  • Home Battery Backup

Quiet, stored power for the circuits you rely on, with a battery placed and wired so it holds its capacity for years.

  • Remodel & Addition Wiring

New circuits for kitchens, baths and additions, tied carefully into the panel and wiring you already have so the whole system ages well together.

  • Code Corrections & Inspection Fixes

We work through the electrical items on a home inspection or failed permit inspection, fix the real defects and keep the sound wiring you already have.

  • Surge Protection

A whole-home surge device at your panel and a check of the grounding behind it, to cut the slow wear that shortens the life of your appliances.

  • Torque & Cleans

Routine panel care: we retighten every connection to its rated torque, clean out dust and debris, and write down any wear we see.

How We Look After Your System

A well-kept electrical system can serve a home for decades. Our job is to find what is wearing out, deal with it properly, and leave the rest alone.

We inspect before we recommend
Every visit starts with testing, not a sales pitch. We check connections, breakers and grounding, then tell you what we found in plain terms. You see photos of anything that concerns us.
Repair first, replace when it is due
A panel with a few tired breakers does not always need to be swapped out. If a part can be repaired or replaced on its own and hold up for years, we say so. When something has reached the end of its life, we explain why and show you.
Materials chosen to last
We use breakers matched to your panel's listing, copper conductors sized for the load, and connectors rated for the job. Outdoors, that means fittings and boxes made to handle sun and heat. Small choices like these decide how long the work holds up.
Careful in your home
We lay down floor protection, keep cut wire and packaging off your floors, and patch our access holes neatly. When we leave, the room should look the way it did before, apart from the work you asked for.
A record of what was done
After the job you get written notes on what we repaired, replaced or tightened. That record makes the next visit faster and helps you plan upkeep instead of reacting to failures.

How a Job Runs

Most visits follow the same simple order, whether it is a single outlet or a new panel.

  1. 1

    You book by phone

Tell us what you are noticing or what you want added. We set a visit time that suits you.

  2. 2

    We test and look

On site we check the panel, the affected circuits and anything nearby that could be related. We take photos and explain what we see.

  3. 3

    Written estimate

You get the scope and cost in writing, with repair and replace options where both are sensible. Nothing starts until you approve it.

  4. 4

    The work, done neatly

We protect floors, pull any required permit and keep the work area tidy. Power is off only as long as the work needs, and we tell you beforehand.

  5. 5

    Test, inspect, hand over

We test every circuit we touched, arrange inspection where required and walk you through the finished work, along with notes for future upkeep.

About Electrician Hudson Oaks

We are a local electrical company serving homeowners across the Hudson Oaks area. Our view is simple: the wiring in most homes has a lot of life left in it if someone looks after it. Loose terminals, overloaded circuits and worn breakers are far cheaper to deal with early than after they fail.

Long, hot summers keep air conditioners running hard, and that steady load warms and loosens connections over time. Much of our work is catching that kind of wear before it becomes a burnt breaker or a dead circuit. When you do need something new, such as a larger panel, a generator or an EV charger, we install it with the same attention to materials and finish we would want in our own homes.

What Drives the Price of Electrical Work

Every house is wired a little differently, so electrical prices differ too. These are the things that push the cost one way or the other. We cover each of them during the visit so the estimate is clear before you say yes.

Before work starts, you get a written estimate that breaks out each part of the job. If opening a wall or cover turns up something unexpected, we pause and go over it with you first.

The state of your existing wiring
Wiring that is tight, clean and properly sized goes quickly. Burnt terminals, aluminum branch circuits or past do-it-yourself jobs take longer to make safe.
How easy the wiring is to reach
Open attics and bare garage walls keep runs simple. Finished walls, cramped crawl spaces and long runs from the panel mean more labor and patching.
The equipment and parts chosen
Breakers, fixtures, chargers and generators are priced by model and rating. We walk you through the options so you can pick what makes sense for how long you expect to live there.
Permit and inspection fees
New circuits, rewiring, generators and panel upgrades usually require a permit. The fee and any inspection trips belong to the job, and we show them as separate lines.
Working with the utility
Certain service upgrades need the utility to cut and restore power at the meter. When they can schedule that affects how we plan the job.

Questions We Hear Most

Do you take care of permits?
We do. When a job needs one, such as a panel upgrade, a generator or new circuits, we file it and set up the inspection your local jurisdiction requires. The fee appears on your written estimate. Plenty of small repairs need no permit, and we will tell you which applies.
Why do my breakers keep shutting off?
A breaker cuts power when its circuit draws more current than it is rated for or when it detects a fault. Common causes are too many appliances on one circuit, a damaged cord or device, a loose connection or a worn breaker. We test to find the real cause rather than installing a bigger breaker, which can be unsafe.
How long is a panel upgrade?
Most panel replacements wrap up in one workday, with the power out for several hours. When the utility must disconnect at the meter or the inspection falls on a later day, it can take a few days from start to finish. We give you the timing in advance so you can plan.
Can you put an EV charger in my garage?
Usually, yes. We check your panel's capacity, the distance to where you park and the charger you have in mind. If the panel has room, it is a dedicated circuit installed carefully. If not, we walk through options like load management or a panel upgrade.
Do you warranty your work?
Yes, it carries a 1-year workmanship warranty. If something we installed or repaired fails because of our work, call us and we will come back and fix it.
What should I do if part of the house loses power?
If you smell burning, see sparks or have a breaker that will not reset, switch that circuit off at the panel and leave it off. If there is smoke or fire, leave the house and call the fire department. For everything else, call us and we will book the earliest visit we have.
How often should my electrical system be looked at?
Every few years is right for most homes, and sooner for older houses or after adding large loads like a hot tub, a charger or a new air conditioner. A panel torque and clean tightens connections that heat loosens over time, and it is one of the simplest ways to extend a panel's life.
